The NRRRC has an incredible Aquatic Centre that includes a 25-metre lane pool and a leisure pool with various water features. Accessibility features include wall-mounted lifts in the universal change room and a low-profile wheelchair for maneuvering the dynamic surfaces of the facility. The Rec Centre is also home to a 6-metre rock-climbing wall, squash/racquetball court, curling rink and two arenas (used for ice activities in the winter and indoor sports in the summer.) While walking or running on the 118-metre walking track you have a panoramic view of the Aquatic Centre, and check out the 3-storey play structure donated by the Rotary Club of Fort Nelson. Many classes and events take place in the fitness room, community hall and Kidzone activity rooms. The facility offers accessible parking options at each entrance in addition to automatic door-openers, an elevator, ramps and wheelchair-access arena seating and change rooms allow for independent access to people with mobility challenges.
